Acharavi is one of the largest and most developed resort areas in northern Corfu. Many locals consider it one of the island’s most practical service centres after Corfu Town, with supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, cafés, restaurants, medical services, car rentals, and everyday facilities available throughout the year.
Unlike many purely seasonal resorts, Acharavi also functions as a real year-round place for locals. This makes it convenient, easy to navigate, and useful for visitors who want comfort, services, and a practical base in the north of the island.
As a local, however, I prefer to be honest. Acharavi has never been one of my personal favourite holiday destinations in Corfu. It is practical and well-organized, but visitors looking for dramatic scenery, traditional village charm, crystal-clear bays, or the island’s most beautiful beaches may prefer places such as Arillas, Agios Stefanos Avliotes, Agios Georgios Pagon, Paleokastritsa, or Kassiopi.

Important to know: Acharavi is not ideal for young travellers looking for nightlife or a strong party scene. Evenings are generally calm, social, and relaxed.
🌊 Acharavi Beach: Long, Useful, but Not One of Corfu’s Best
Acharavi Beach is long and spacious, stretching along the northern coastline of Corfu. It is useful for walking, swimming, and easy beach days, especially if you are staying nearby.
However, the beach is not one of my personal favourites on the island. It is not a fine golden sandy beach in the way many visitors imagine. In many sections, you will find pebbles, coarse sand, and a mixed seabed.
