1 Tyropita / Spanakopita
Few things smell better in Greece than fresh pies coming out of a local bakery early in the morning. Tyropita is filled with creamy cheese, while Spanakopita combines spinach, herbs, and feta cheese inside crispy layers of phyllo pastry. Greeks often eat them for breakfast or as a quick snack during the day.
You can find them almost everywhere, especially in bakeries called “fournos.” Prices usually range from €2 to €3.50 depending on size and location. Village bakeries often make some of the tastiest versions. They are easy to carry, filling, and perfect if you want a cheap and authentic Greek snack while exploring cities, beaches, or islands.
