6Following Google Maps Blindly
Google Maps is extremely useful in Corfu, but you should never follow it blindly.
Sometimes the shortest route can lead through very narrow village lanes, steep roads or local routes that are technically passable but uncomfortable for visitors unfamiliar with the area.
If your navigation suddenly tells you to leave a normal main road and enter a road that looks extremely narrow, steep or poorly maintained, stop and check the route before continuing.
A few extra kilometres on a main road can often be much easier than saving five minutes through a tiny village lane.
