If something goes wrong while driving in Greece, don’t panic. Here is what tourists should do in 10 common rental car emergencies, who to call and which mistakes to avoid.
10Someone Is Injured or You Have a Serious Accident
If anyone is injured, your first priority is people — not the rental car.
Stop in the safest possible place, switch on your hazard lights and call 112. Greece’s European Emergency Number operates 24 hours a day, is free to call and can connect you with the Police, Ambulance Service, Fire Service and other emergency authorities.
112 operators can communicate in Greek, English and French. Tell them what happened, whether anyone is injured and your exact location.
If possible, use Google Maps to identify your position or nearby road, village, junction or landmark.

Do not move an injured person unless they are in immediate danger, and do not attempt to continue driving a badly damaged vehicle.
Once the immediate emergency is under control, contact your rental company and follow its accident procedure.
