Red Beach, south of Matala, is a striking cove reached by a steep footpath over the headland or, when available, by boat. The walk can be rough and exposed, so wear proper shoes and avoid it if the route is beyond your comfort or ability. There is little infrastructure on the beach itself.
Clothing-optional bathing is customary in parts of the cove, but it is not a reason to ignore other visitors’ comfort or any local restrictions. Bring everything you need and take all rubbish back with you. Boat services and nearby businesses are seasonal, so check locally before relying on them.
