1Trying to Find Parking in Corfu Town
Finding a parking space in Corfu Town can become one of the most frustrating experiences of a summer holiday. During July and August, the centre becomes particularly busy in the late morning and evening. The situation can be even more difficult on days when several cruise ships are visiting or when a festival, procession or major event is taking place.
How to improve the experience: Visit Corfu Town before 09:30 or later in the afternoon, allowing plenty of extra time to find a space. Do not drive repeatedly through the narrow streets around the historic centre looking for the perfect parking spot. Use one of the larger parking areas outside the Old Town and walk the remaining distance. If your accommodation is located near a reliable bus route, leaving the car behind may be the least stressful option.
Personally, I would not recommend driving into Corfu Town on a busy July or August evening unless it is absolutely necessary. If you have a restaurant reservation or a scheduled activity, arrive much earlier than you think you need to.
