5Buying Aircraft in Bulk Strengthens Its Bargaining Position
Ryanair places exceptionally large aircraft and engine orders. Bulk purchasing can help it negotiate better commercial terms while reducing the average acquisition cost per aircraft.
The company has also shown a willingness to place major orders during periods when aircraft manufacturers need customers, giving Ryanair additional negotiating power. In 2025, it agreed to buy 30 spare LEAP-1B engines with a list value of approximately $500 million.
