5Do Not Rent Quad Bikes
As a local, I strongly advise visitors not to rent quad bikes or ATVs in Corfu.
They may appear fun and easy to drive, but Corfu has many narrow roads, sharp bends, uneven surfaces, limited visibility and heavy summer traffic. Quad bikes provide very little protection when an accident occurs.
Serious accidents involving tourists happen every summer. Visitors who are not familiar with local roads, particularly those accustomed to driving on the left side of the road, should be especially careful.
A small rental car, licensed taxi, local bus or organized transfer is usually a much safer choice.
