Extreme heat, dry vegetation and strong winds can create a high wildfire risk in Corfu during August.
Check official weather warnings and the daily fire-risk forecast before visiting forested areas, hiking trails or remote parts of the island.
Never throw cigarettes from a vehicle, light a fire, use disposable barbecues in prohibited areas or leave glass bottles in dry vegetation.
