8Discover Some of Corfu’s Quieter Beaches
Kalamaki beach
Visitors do not have to spend every day at the island’s most famous and crowded beaches. Corfu has several long beaches and quieter coastal areas where it is usually easier to find personal space.
Some good alternatives include:
- Gardenos Beach
- Issos Beach
- Halikounas Beach
- Agios Georgios Pagon
- Arillas Beach
- Agios Stefanos in northwest Corfu
- Kalamaki Beach in nort Corfu
- Myrtiotissa Beach, which is traditionally known as a naturist or nudist beach
Even these beaches can become busy in August, particularly at weekends. Arriving early remains the best option.
Issos and Halikounas are large and open, but they have limited natural shade. Visitors should bring an umbrella, plenty of water and adequate sun protection.
