Metsovo is widely known as a winter destination, but summer is also an excellent time to visit.
The town is located at approximately 1,150 metres above sea level and is surrounded by the Pindus Mountains.
Because of its altitude, summer temperatures are often noticeably more comfortable than in lowland areas.
Visitors can walk through the traditional streets, enjoy local cheeses and meat dishes, visit nearby wineries or explore the surrounding mountains and forests.
Evenings can become pleasantly cool, especially compared with Athens or Greece’s hotter islands.
