3Paxos and Antipaxos Islands with Their Famous Beaches
Paxos and Antipaxos are two small Ionian islands located south of Corfu. Although they are separate islands, they are strongly associated with holidays in Corfu because they are among the most popular excursions from the island.
Paxos is known for its traditional villages, olive groves, sea caves and beautiful coastline. Its main settlements include Gaios, Lakka and Loggos, all of which have picturesque harbours, waterfront cafés and traditional architecture.
Antipaxos is famous for its exceptionally clear turquoise water. Its best-known beaches include Voutoumi and Vrika, which are frequently compared with tropical destinations.

Many organised cruises combine the Blue Caves of Paxos with a swimming stop near Antipaxos and free time in Gaios. Before booking, check the size of the boat, departure point, total travelling time and exactly how long you will spend swimming or exploring ashore.
My personal recommendation: Paxos and Antipaxos would be one of my first choices for an excursion from Corfu. If you have additional days and want to see the Greek mainland, I would also recommend Parga or, if your schedule allows a much longer journey, Meteora.
Personally, I would choose Paxos, Parga or Meteora before taking a rushed day trip to Albania. Albania can certainly be interesting, but border procedures, ferry schedules and limited time in each place can make a one-day excursion feel hurried. Parga offers a beautiful Greek coastal town, while Meteora provides a completely different experience with its monasteries and extraordinary rock formations.

Those who prefer a slower experience should consider staying overnight on Paxos rather than seeing it only as part of a crowded day cruise.
