6The Relaxed Corfiot Atmosphere
Many repeat visitors say that they begin to relax as soon as they arrive on the island.
Corfu can certainly become busy during July and August, but away from the busiest roads and resorts, life can still move at a slower pace.
A morning coffee may last longer than planned. Lunch beside the sea can continue into the afternoon, and an evening walk may end with an unexpected drink or conversation.
Visitors do not always need a detailed programme. Some of the best days involve swimming, eating, walking through a village and deciding what to do next only when the time comes.
This slower rhythm is one reason many people return to exactly the same location. They already know where they feel comfortable and do not want to spend their limited holiday searching for it somewhere else.
